Customer Rating: Summary: Canon has done it again! Comment: Once again, Canon has produced another well built product. I have had no problems with this product since purchasing it. I recommend this for all professional and freelance photographers who do a wide range of shooting. This grip is ideal for sports shooting, it relieves stress put on your wrist.
Customer Rating: Summary: This makes your 40D Complete Comment: I am pleased with the battery grip. It makes it so much easier to shoot in portrate mode. Also not having to change the batteries for ever is a nice touch.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great grip Comment: This is the third Canon grip that I currently own. I use a 30D, 40D, and now a 50D for event photography, and my first grip was the BG-E2 for the 30D. The 40D, and 50D both have the BG-E2N grip, which offers better dust and moisture seals, but both look and feel the same from an operators perspective.
The very early grips had electrical contact issues, but that problem was resolved by the time the 30D was shipping several years ago. I like the extra real estate offered by the grip, the extra battery power, and the fact that it allows me to use the hand strap in place of the neck strap. That alone is worth the cost to me, as I can let a camera hang from my hand with a grip and hand strap all day long in total comfort, even with a big lens like the 70-200 f/2.8 IS L, as opposed to being beaten to near death with the camera bouncing off of my neck and chest as I move about. It also makes the camera ready for instant action. You really have to try the setup to understand, but the combination really delivers.
Customer Rating: Summary: Battery Grip Comment: This battery grip works as advertised. I use the Opteka battery grips on my Canon Rebel XT and XTI so when I bought my Canon 40D I knew I would need the grip. I went with the Canon brand for this and have not had any problems as of yet. There are those out there that have had problems with this product, but I feel that if you use a little care and take care of your equipment it will work the way it's designed and last a long time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect! Comment: Canon battery grip is a MUST have accessories, I can't imagine myself using a camera without the grip! It makes it very easy to hold the camera! I am very pleased with this accessory and I will buy it again when I get another *0D DSLR :)
