Summary: Cute and sweet, but cut short
Comment: It's a cute series, though I like the manga better since the story keeps going. I really wish they had continued the series rather than stopping where they did (reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5). That having been said, I still recommend buying the box set, the episodes are sweet and enjoyable.

Comment: This is one of the best japanese anime i have seen. as soon as i started to watch it. It grabed my attention it is addicting so much that you just wish it would never end. It's a bummer that the DVD's stop at Vol. 4. The Manga is great it has alot more detail and more story then the DVD's but this collection i wouldn't trade it for any thing... it's a very sweet and powerful story... i recomend purchasing this seris.. i bet you will get hooked as well.

It is SO awesome! I'm now officaily OBSESSED!!! I love all the characters, especialy Kyo, the cat! It is the best anime i've ever seen and its really funny too! It also teaches morals like to believe in yourself and how to get excepted by others. It is really great for teens who struggle with self confidence because you can relate to the characters problems. I really think that everone in the entire world should see this because it is that good! For all of you adults out there, it is very intertaining and both my mom and dad really like it too. I wouldnt suggest it for little toddlers like even 8 year olds because it does say some cuss words...but in a funny way. This movie by no means is a cussing movie! Anyways, there are a lot of sad, tuching scenes that made even me cry. I've never cried in a movie before and i've seen some pretty depressing movies... So if your thinking "oh should i buy it or not...?" BUY IT!!! You wont regret it! Plus in this version, it has english voices and Japanese so you can choose between the two.

Summary: A tear teaser and Heart warmer
Comment: Ok just to get this straight fruits basket has one of the most intertwining and excellent storylines in anime that I've ever found. It also being one of my very first animes i am proud to say that it pleases the palate and more.The main charactor Tohru always tends to be an optimist even in the aftermath of her mother dieing in a car crash when she was very young. She decides to try to live on her own (in a tent in the woods) she feels as if she would be a burden to anyonelse if they took her under their wing(sje was staying with her grandfather but they were reinventing the house and she was told to stay with someonelse but instead she choose to not bug anyone and live as i said). This master plan doesnt last very long when Yuki-Sohma and Shigure-Sohma that live near by and own the woods, stumble across her camp while taking a leasurily strole. Yuki also being a student that Tohru goes to school with feels inclined to help the girl, on the other hand shiugure for some odd reason thinks the whole thing is hilarious.(dont read to much into Shigure he tends to be a loose charactor that always cracks perverted jokes and what not). Yuki invites Tohru back ti the house saying that it is to dangerous for a young girl like her to be out alone in the woods. Tohru uses a vacant room and spends the night but only to find that her tent was caught in a landslide and that she now has no home to go back to. She feels very upset about and Yuki once again offers her to stay but this time for longer until she is able to return to her grandfathers house. She once again accepts the offer and that is when all the mayhem begins.This includes all of the below Crazy fan girls, talking animals, cross dressing boys,the legend of the chinese zodiac, high-school romances, love triangles,rice balls, and family secrets. This is a highly reccomended MUST SEE! for any anime fan!

Comment: This was such a better deal then the other box set, although you do notice where the money's been cut from. The dvd had all the episodes, and as far as I can tell, had all the special features and extras. The only difference was there were more episodes per dvd, and the packaging was much cheaper. The dvd cases had just simple covers with tiny print on the back, while the box itself was just a continual display of screen shots, with a piece of paper stuck on the back with the blurb etc on it.
Other than that there was absolutely no difference, and this was clearly the cheaper and better way to go.
