The real star of the Samsung Beat, however, is its music support. Summary: Don't buy this phone!
Comment: I have return of this phone to T Mobile hoping to get a longer Battery life but the conclusion is the Battery only last for less than 2 days. I talk less than 10 mins & don't use the MP3 player. The specs says it last for 10 Days on Standby. But last only 2 days or less.
Also, very low volume speaker phone and too small to really get a comfortable grip on it.
This is a crappy phone, period!

Summary: Good range of features, terrible phone
Comment: As the Samsung employee (M. Sanchez--go look at his reviews, they read like a marketing campaign) who gave the Beat a glowing review states, this phone does pack a surprising breadth of functionality for what is now a free phone with a service contract ($18 "upgrade fee" if you extend your existing contract). However, after use, it skips a Beat (AHAHAHAHA...whatever. You guys suck as an audience anyways).
The Samsung Beat is woefully underpowered. Everything from the music player to scrolling through your MyFaves contacts suffers from a delayed response. Get used to hitting the Play button about 8 times before you finally figure out that you have to press it and wait 15 seconds to be sure the Beat noticed you pressed a button.
The Beat is a horrible, horrible telephone. As the other users have been nearly unanimous in decrying, the sound quality of the microphone will surely elicit complaints from your callers. The headphones do indeed hurt like the dickens after about an hour (and I have big ears). Worst of all, the internal antenna loses signal constantly. While my Nokia 6103 had no trouble around my house (3-4 bars of signal strength), the Beat loses connection repeatedly near any large object. I had to switch to the Nokia yesterday to continue a conversation because the Beat kept dropping the call when I'd get near the washer and dryer. I have the same trouble standing at the counter washing dishes, with a flippin' window right in front of me.
The phone desperately needs a second connector. It uses one proprietary connector for everything: USB, power, and headset. T-Mobile should have also streamlined some of the menu options. For example, setting the ringtone from the main menu does not affect calls from your MyFaves contacts, although nothing indicates that there is a separate setting for those contacts (there is: you have to click around in the Options menu while hovered over a MyFaves contact, and each contact has a different ringtone that must be set).
If it didn't hold and play a sizable chunk of music, I'd huck it out the window and leave a stylish imprint on some unsuspecting passerby's face. Look for something else!

Summary: Don't get this phone
Comment: My husband and I both got this phone a month ago. For the first 3 weeks it was awesome, then I started getting a screeching noise when I would talk on it. I changed the sim card and it stopped, but then it just stopped working. I would turn it on and start to make a call, and it would turn off. My husband's phone wasn't even receiving the calls. I would call and it would ring and ring on my end and he would have nothing. Then his just stopped working. It did the same as mine. It would turn off. The batteries were charged fully and we had even reset the phone, but it wouldn't work. Don't buy this phone.

Summary: Bad Battery Life
Comment: My old Samsung (don't know the model) could go for 4 days without charging. Granted I only used that as a phone and not a music player.
Still, listening to music on this phone for less than 2 hours a day (maybe more like 1 hour) and talking for less than 30 minutes, the phone dies after a day and a half.
So basically, when used properly, this phone needs to be charged nightly.
No other complaints so far, but haven't had it a month yet.

Comment: ive had this phone since it came out in november 2007
i have had a crap load of problems with this phone
from aim to calling to texting
on aim sometimes it doesnt recieve what the ppl send me and doesnt send what i say and thats not because i dont have any bars of service either it can be full and not work
on texting sometimes it freezes and i have to take the battery out especially when music is playing
and the music makes everything freeze when its playing no matter what it is
sometimes when people call my phone it doesnt ring and it goes strate to voicemail and it tells me i have a missed call...and it never rang!
sometimes when texting it wont send my message and picture messages dont always send or come in either
and when i call people and they hang up sometimes it will freeze or if they dont answer and i decide to end the call...and leaves it to me taking the battery out.
oh and when you talk to people the voice quality sucks...sometimes when i call people i cant hear a thing there saying unless i put it on speaker phone
the only good thing bout this phone is the camera and it came with a 1gb sd card
and tmobile sucks to i emailed about all this stuff... and they said they couldnt help me...and they thought i had a sidekick...it was really messed up but yeah
i wouldnt buy this phone
