Editorial Reviews:

Continues the Yamaha tradition of producing top-notch arranger keyboards, reproducing instruments so authentically, you will feel as if you are playing the real thing. With 891 instrumental voices, it offers the player a huge sonic palette. Features such as Vocal Harmony and the powerful Bass-Reflex make the PSR-S900 an incredible live performance tool, and the impressive sounds make it perfect for studio work as well.

Summary: versatile workstation
Comment: pros:
- very impressive guitar and piano sounds + mor qality drums
- tons of features and professional acompaniments that can be qite simply recorded as audio or midi data for editing in the seqencer; also, it has AN EXTRA educational application
- kan be suitable for good quality studio recording of arrangments and even vocals with an integrated sofisticated vocoder that has many types of harmonies, and vocal effects with a compressor and a noise gate
- option to record on a usb drive [mine is 2GB] or internal hard drive
- fast usb connection with a PC and seperate port for internet connection
- intuitive navigation and functional file management with flexibile configuration of the operating system
- has improoved speakers and karaoke applications with the lyrics and notation
- not too hevy nor bulky nor fragile
- cool, super articulation and live sounds ar pretty awesom
- rubberized buttons provide mor traction, and thus acuracy
- LIKELY A MOR WORTHY INVESTMENT THAN TYROS 2 THAT PROVES TO BE NOT AS AFFORDABLE AS IT SHOOD BE FOR WOT IT HAS TO OFFER IN RELATION TO PSR-S900
-OVERAL THIS ONE IS NOT A MAJOR DISSAPPOINTMENT, YET STIL REQIRES A LOT OF PERFECTING IN THE MIDI CONTROLLER FUNCTIONALITY

cons:
- no aftertouch [kommon, yamaha?...aftertouch on modern keyboards seems no longer a luxury], which is still not a big deal, bekoz there is an expression pedal parameter that kan be assined for either of several kinds of extra effects
- laks the variable sustaining levels of piano [shood not be that hard to modefy, rite?], altho expression pedal becomes very useful for the softening effect of the piano (or sustenuto), which really makes the playability more versatile
- not a freely assinable modulation weel [-wot the hell? - wot blous even mor iz that it may not be effectiv for most strings, that instead of a dredful defolty vibrato to wich this parameter is set, need the realistik swelling of volume/tone effect. Funktion of the mod weel's signal shood vary upon the tipe of instrument that 'ood treated the same as the expression padal
- majority of sweet sounds have a forced vibrato that is not riddable, yet instruments themself hav especially a realistik tone; wile missing aftertuch kood'av been perfekt for a vibrato effect being appropriately essential only to certain instruments but not most; ALSO, wile missing polypressure kood'av been handy for swelling of tones starting from any particular initial velocity registered by 1st hitting the key

Very Soon, toward the end of FEB I'll hopefully release a vocal song that wil hav only 900s sounds. Then I'll giv a link to everyone to chek it out.
