Editorial Reviews:

The most eagerly-anticipated bluegrass debut in recent memory, Dailey & Vincent introduces a powerful new ensemble steeped in bluegrass and country music traditions, but blessed with the drive, talent, and charisma to assert those timeless values proudly onto today's stage. Co-leaders Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent have already had a profound impact on much of the best modern bluegrass via their contributions to such estimable performers as Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage. Stepping out on their own for the first time, Dailey & Vincent make breathtaking music that seamlessly connects country music's roots in brother duet singing to its future in exhilarating, full-throttle bluegrass - without ever sacrificing heart, sincerity, and soul.

"Even before one note of their stunning record had been heard, the pair earned a standing ovation at the 2007 International Bluegrass Music Association convention and were booked for more than 100 shows. Now that the album is here, the advance accolades are completely understandable. This is music that can stand side by side with any of the most revered bluegrass discs ever made." - from the liner notes by Robert K. Oermann

Summary: Young men with vocal harmony approaching perfection
Comment: Wow! I knew this was going to be a good recording. NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. I've kept up with Mr. Dailey all the years he was with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver and he learned from what in my opinion is the master of harmony and instrumental excellence. I look forward to many years of Dailey and Vincent and wish them well in all their endeavors. Thanks guys for an excellent CD.

Summary: This Is a Good One
Comment: Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, both veterans of years working with big-name bluegrass bands, have now teamed up to form a band of their own and have recently released their first album, the self-titled Dailey & Vincent. Dailey is best known for the nine years he spent with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, the band he left in August 2007. Vincent, brother of Rhonda Vincent, got his start performing with his family's band, The Sally Mountain Show, and has worked with the biggest names in bluegrass and country music in recent years.

If Dailey & Vincent is any indication, these guys have a very bright future in bluegrass music. What makes this album, a mix of traditional bluegrass and gospel music with a little country thrown in for good measure, special are the harmonies featured in most of the songs. Jamie Dailey has one of the purest (and highest) high tenor voices in the business and Darrin Vincent's voice offers the perfect blend needed to create some memorable vocals.

Among the album's strongest cuts are five gospel tunes, including an acappella performance of "Don't You Want to Go to Heaven When You Die," sung in four-part harmony and guaranteed to make you hold your breath as the lyrics seem to come faster and faster and get you wondering when the singers are going to run out of breath themselves. "By the Mark," a song that should be part of every Dailey & Vincent performance if it's not, gives Jamie Dailey the chance to demonstrate that superb high tenor of his and is sure to be an album favorite.

The traditional bluegrass sound is well represented by standout songs such as "Cumberland River," "Poor Boy Workin' Blues" and my favorite, "Don't You Call My Name."

This is a first class album debut but that should not be surprising considering the decades of musical experience that Dailey and Vincent already have under their belts. The guys have surrounded themselves with some fine musicians and promise to be just as good on stage as they are on this recording.

Summary: Great , but better live
Comment: I just heard this band in Hollywood, Maryland. I've been listening to bluegrass for over 30 years, and thought I heard it all. These guys take it to a new level. Their live performance absolutely blew me away. From the first note all the way through. They are non stop. One song after another. Although the album is very good, unfortunately a lot of their live stuff isn't on the album and the album doesn't quite capture the strong energy and the incredible harmony's these guys project. Still there are a few songs; Poor Boy Working blues, and Sweet Carrie that give a glimpse into what they are like live, and On the Mark gives a sense of their harmonies. I rate the album 4 stars, but only because I saw how great they are live, otherwise I'd have given it higher. The album also tends to be more gospelly than their live show. I'll be trying to catch them live again this year, which is a rarity for me. Our group even had people that didn't like bluegrass with us, and they were blown away. The band is touring the East now and may be playing near you. I think they have a website with their tour dates/venues.

Summary: Amazing Bluegrass Voices
Comment: I have just gotten through watching both these young men perform at the Argyle Tx Bluegrass Festival. These young men knocked the socks off of the crowd. What wonderful harmony and soul they project. They sang many of the songs that is on this CD and if it can get any better, I don't where to go. What a duo. Riley Chandler, Garland, TX
