Summary: Worth every penny
Comment: I bought this along with a 30cc string trimmer and this baby has paid for itself at least 3x over now. Within a month of buying it a 30 foot cedar in my back yard died. I was able to use this to cut the tree down and subsequently chop it into 30" logs for the city to carry away. Talk about TIMELY.
Since then I've trimmed several trees and cut down/up Another full-sized tree. It's great because the saw is far enough away that there is little danger of injury from kickback or slipping and sharing off a foot--I doubt I could touch the blade if I fell straight forward while using it. It fairly light too, and I was comfortable enough with it to teach my 11-year-old daughter to use it for chopping up the dead cedar tree. She was cutting like a pro within a few minutes. ;)
I've cut through enough wood that I'm going to have to get the chain sharpened, which is quite a lot of wood, and I've had no issues with it. It leaks bar oil a little bit, but I just wrap it in a grocery bag prior to putting it away. Seems to do the trick. So far, so good, and I'd definitely buy it again.

Summary: broke 2.5 of thes chain saw pruner attachments
Comment: I'm looking for a similar unit. I love the functionality and have used these Expand-It 155520 units since 2003.
But one time the extension boom caused the mating square socket in the trimmer to get rounded out because the square end of the power cable is too short and doesn't extend flush to the end of the extension boom tube (like it does on my other 5 attachments; blower, string trimmer, edger, hedgecutter, pruner).
And twice the right-angle gears have stripped. I believe the source is that the long extended system has too much torque wrap-up of the power cable and the chain starts chattering from this. Trying to cut slowy at high revs helps but doesn't completely eliminate the chatter.
I'm hoping the Poulan Pro unit lasts longer as I like the concept of a chainsaw that is so far away from the operator that kickback isn't so hazardous.

Summary: Beware
Comment: This attachment will only work on certain models despite the factory claim. I called CS today and was told that even though they advertise the unit to work on Homelite and MTD units, the fact is, they only work on some of the newer models. You can bet that if your trimmer is 5 years or older, then you don't have a very good chance that the "Expand It" line will work... To bad, I was really hoping for good results...

Comment: Good product, functions great, refurbished quality look as if it was new. Also still gave warranty which is beneficial and came with all instructions also.A lot cheaper than any other items found in home depot or Lowe's

Comment: This reconditioned Ryobi pruner attachment works and looks like new. Item is priced right and has excellent performance. I had no problems pruning 1" to 5" branches of cypress and maple trees in my yard. Item more than paid for itself after the first cut. Highly recommended especially with the confidence of buying it from Amazon.
