Editorial Reviews:

Now you can store, carry and transfer large files in an affordable, convenient device. The DataTraveler from Kingston helps budget-conscious users break storage barriers, allowing them to easily store and move large files in a device no bigger than a pocketknife, replacing the need for floppies or the hassle of burning CDs.As easy as click and drag, the DataTraveler can hold just about any file you can think of: term papers, theses, digital images, spreadsheets or other important documents. It works with virtually any computer with a USB port - even cross-platform from Macintosh to PC and vice versa.

Summary: kingston usb flash drive
Comment: I guess a 8gb flash drive is a lot of memory and the kingston drive is well worth, it works fast and is like a plug in and use.

Summary: Fast and Cheap!!
Comment: Works great, it seems pretty fast and it wasn't very expensive considering it's eight gigs. Only thing I don't like is the cap, I'm afraid i might loose it. It should have a little tether to it or something so it can't be separated from the drive. When it's plugged in the cap does fit snugly on the back though.

Summary: Broke on first day!
Comment: While the data storage works as expected the plastic piece broke when I placed on my key ring. Very cheap plastic.

Summary: Double the pleasure, double the fun (at about half the price)
Comment: I bought 2 of the 4GB variety some 10 months ago at about $25 each. That was considered a great bargain at the time. I was happy when I saw the 8GB for a lot less a few days ago.

I am using the DataTravelers for exactly what the name implies. I take them with me on the road, loaded with whatever I need for my trip and I don't need to worry about bringing a laptop along. Each flash drive is viewed by the computer as a 'disk', meaning that it can be formatted, even partitioned. I usually have a 'public' partition and an encrypted section for the more sensitive files.

I have little doubt that, one year or two years from now the 16GB version may be available for about the same price or less but, until then, I have 'stuff' that I need to take with me and I am glad to be able to have something I purchased for, almost literally, the price of 'peanuts' - well... airport or minibar peanuts :)

I have little negative to say about this little devices other than... being as small as they are, you must be VERY careful not to lose them or misplace them - that's why I encrypt everything that's not supposed to be 'public'.

Summary: Solid flash drive
Comment: I have several (err, had as I gave them to my kids for school use) 1GB versions of this stick that have worked and lasted well.

The price on flash drives continue to drop and this 8GB stick is very economical.

It's light, compact and durable.

It has a removable cap that can be snapped onto the other end rather than to leave loose to lose and a clip for a lanyard on the end.

The lanyard clip is plastic and I don't know how well it would hold up as I just pocket this stick, but it appears solid enough for a plastic clip.

I would buy this again as I more or less have. LOL
