Summary: Excellent In Depth Coverage to Kick Start Your Reason 4 Experience
Comment: I love REASON but I always felt like I was just touching the surface. The DVD features the incredibly talented Josh Mobley and the always informative Kurt Kurasaki walking you through a production of Mobleys song called "Narrow Escape".
The beauty of REASON is its depth and flexibility. In this DVD, you learn how to produce a track from start to finish, including some tasty lessons in mastering. Mobley walks you through many of the new sequencer upgrades and short cuts so you can get a song structure up within minutes. He also shares some intricate production tricks step by step like using a Combinator to improve workflow, emphasizing a breakdown, combining samples to build a groove, importing audio tracks via ReCycle and most of all, touches upon editing in all of its modes so no matter which way you like to work, you`ll find something of value here.
For someone like me who tends to get comfortable with a set way, this DVD opened up an entire new way for me to work within REASON. Mobley and Kurasaki discuss every piece of gear in REASON and also use most of them for this production of the song Narrow Escape. Within minutes I was learning techniques and shortcuts that I probably never would have figured out on my own so just for that, its with the $40 admission. If you`re into REASON and you`ve been feeling theres more to it than meets the eye, you`re right... there is. Discover here.
