Summary: Mediocre Performance
Comment: I have been attempting to use this device since I purchased it. I first got one that had a bad battery and would not hold a charge on the receiver. Amazon returned it without issue, but sent me a second one. That one won't turn back on after the device goes to standby without plugging it back in first. when I have it attached with the wire, it works as advertised, but its wireless capability is mediocre at best.

Summary: I can not figure out this product yet
Comment: Maybe I need to invest more time on my calligraphy, but I have a hard time understanding how this product was released with such a poor recognition software suite. It is good for scanning purposes, but I for the most part I am fairly disappointed with the recognition features.
For the record, I owned a Newton and a Logitech IO pen - both of them far superior on the recognition front.

Summary: IOGEAR Gpen 200N Mobile Digital Scribe
Comment: I read others' reviews of this product before my purchase, and it was as I expected.
I wished the recognition could be a bit faster, i.e. I had to slow down my hand writing/strokes to get the its sensor to read properly without "skipping".
However, it was my second pen because the first one was defective; it could not hold its charge, and when diconnected with the computer, there would be no power. In a word, it did not work.
Amazon did replace a new one for me after making calls from verseas: talked to the GPEN people, got the name of the operator and the record number the proved she did all that she could, and to Amazon to give the details of the first call. I was sweating all that time.
Although without postage within the U.S., I paid my own postage to send the bad one back to my friend in U.S. and have the new one sent out again; total of three Fedx (including the bad one's initial one) that was as expensive as the cost of the GPen itself.

Summary: Iogear Mobile Scribe - Good to take notes during meetings
Comment: Very good gadget to take notes during a meeting at work. People ask me about it and get surprised when they see the JPG image of what I wrote.
I was not very confident of using this pen a lot, because I thought that at some point the pen was going to run out of ink, but I found an online store and I got 6 refills within a week (total cost with shipping 13.2 Dls). Just google: Schmidt ® Mini Ball Pen Refill
The package only includes one ink refill. So consider buying extra ink refills when buying this pen.

Summary: Time Saver
Comment: My son is using this pen to save time and organize his school work. He seems to like it very much. The only thing that gave us problems was that the pen software kept needing to be re-installed. I would not have had the patients for this, but he is a bit of a computer nerd and figured out the problem. The great part is you only neeed to take the actual pen to school, as it records a certain amount of information in an on board chip, and then he down loads it to his laptop upon arrival home. This makes for great finals outlines. All and all seems like a great product.
