Maggie's Soap Nuts are the first truly natural cleaner - the only laundry soap that grows on trees! Truly effective, 100% natural and safe for your most sensitive skin. Soap Nuts are the dried fruit of the Soapberry tree. They contain saponin, a natural cleaner used for thousands of years to clean clothes, proven effective in Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions. Tested by humans on humans for at least 5000 years. Simply put 5 Soap Nuts into the included cotton sack and drop it in your laundry. Reuse up to 5 times. Your clothes come out clean, vibrant, and soft. Replace your laboratory detergents and softeners with the soap made from Nature by Nature. Your clothes, your skin, your family, and your planet will thank you. Ingredients: dried fruit of the Soapberry tree. Also contains: one cotton wash sack and full instructions for washing more than 200 loads of laundry.

Customer Rating: Summary: These are Great. Comment: My daughter sent me a link to these once, and I decided to try them though they seemed rather odd. (which is why she sent me the link). I love them and have been using them every since.
I can smell *no* aroma from them on the clothes, so when I want to I add essential oils to the water (just a drop does it), and I can have clothes that smell of peppermint, or what ever aroma I want at the time.
They are very easy to use, I think even easier than measuring out liquid or powder detergent and fabric softener. It does well in bringing out the stains and when I need a little 'extra' power I toss in a scoop of Earth Friendly powdered laundry booster. They are great for front load washers!
Two little bags comes along with the *box* of Soap Nuts (didn't get one with the large bag - at least haven't found it yet, might be one in there). And also as an added gift 'with the box' there is a pair of earrings made from two of the smaller soap nuts. Cute.
You can make soap for different uses by soaking the nuts and using the tea from them, which I haven't tried yet but intend to eventually. I like the idea that they are kind to the environment as well...that is a BIG plus as I like to use green and organic products as much as possible.
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended Comment: We love Maggie's Soap Nuts! They work fantastically! We've been using them for about 3 weeks now and we are definately going to be ordering again. Our clothes are truly clean and free of all harsh synthetic chemicals. We don't have to worry about skin irritations or harming the environment. We highly recommend Maggie's Soap Nuts to every family! You won't be disappointed! You'll help your clothes, the earth and your wallet!
Customer Rating: Summary: Maggies soap nuts Comment: I have been using soap nuts for several months because of chemical allergies, they take up small amounts of space; and, best of all, they work! I had tried a small amount first because I wanted to be sure that they did what they said they did. Then I ordered the larger amount. I was making my own laundry detergent, using white vinegar for softner and needing to always use a second rinse. Now that is not necessary. I have noted that each load seemed to get my clothes cleaner and softer. An added benefit is that I save the soap nuts and put them in a jar with water and it gives me a wonderful cleaning solution. I use tea tree oil in every laundry load I do for disinfecting and so I feel the soap nuts have been disinfected even though used. I have found that I do not need to make up most of my cleaning supplies with using this product. It cleans windows and mirrors, fronts of dishwashers, etc with a wonderful shine; just be sure to wipe completely dry and polish. I have been using it on my old fiberglass tub after showering and it leaves a nice shine. I just spray and use a long handled mop to spread it around and then rinse. I had tried everything on this tub (we bought our mobile home used and nothing took off the stuff that was on it until now)....so...Maggies soap nuts are the best! I cannot have enough of them....what are you waiting for?? try some. experiment with the liquid, etc.
Customer Rating: Summary: Maggie's soap nuts Comment: Maggie's soap nuts are a great product. I was skeptical, but have used on all my family laundry, except my husband's greasy clothes from shop. They seem to get everything clean , I do pretreat spots. I love how they are all natural and don't bother anyone's skin. I played with the formula and came up with using 2 in a load, then when I have 4 used ones I throw those four in the bag together and use for a load.
Customer Rating: Summary: most "natural" detergent out there Comment: I've replaced all conventional detergents in my house over three years ago and thought I was doing a good job "being green." Then I read how you also have to factor in "food miles" and "carbon imprint" or how much energy and fuel goes into manufacturing and shipping your products around the world. Ok, so now instead of buying detergents which are mostly water and heavy, I am buying one bag of soap nuts which is the purest form and concentrated. And this bag is supposed to last for 200 loads!
Plus soapnuts are a sustainable and natural resource-- they grow like crazy and each tree produces hundreds of pounds of soapnuts. There are no added fillers or dyes or chemicals and it is completely safe for our water systems.
I have used another brand of soapnuts and they were not as good. Maggie's soapnuts are very soapy and moist--like a fig or date. They do a great job at cleaning everything in the wash. I haven't tried it as a shampoo or regular household cleaner but I'm sure it will do a fantastic job, based on what I've seen in the wash.
One word of caution-- separate your whites and darks. Even if you use cold water, the soapnuts do too good of a job. Wash your jeans inside out to prevent dye leakage.
