This Schoenhut toy piano comes in a bright red finish. We also have the same toy piano in a white finish on our store. This toy piano is similar to the original My First Piano, but with a bigger keyboard - 25 full size keys. Both fun and educational, this is an ideal toy piano to use for a child's development of eye-hand coordination and musical creativity. Chromatically tuned, this toy piano's lovely chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking precision-ground, German steel music rods (versus the conventional taut wires used in full-sized pianos.) Made of maple and hardboard. This Schoenhut toy piano comes with a songbook geared for little beginners. Schoenhut's patented piano Learning System , with its play-by-color teaching method, makes playing the toy piano simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the toy piano's keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart also works on adult piano keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning - making the transition from toy piano to a large piano easy. Schoenhut's accompanying Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes - written especially for the toy piano. Comment: Consider this as an alternative to an electronic keyboard toy. It's nearly impossible to find a musical toy that doesn't take batteries nowadays! This toy is true to key, has a bright tone, and is fun to play with. My 1-year-old niece loves to pound on it, and I'm hoping that she'll learn a little something about music from it as well. It appears to be well-constructed and a high quality piece of equipment.
