The sun recharges the battery inside the light and if it gets too low (Winter time), you can charge it in a regular battery charger and it's like new. Customer Rating: Summary: Not all of them work! Comment: My daughter gave me these for Mother's day '08. They are beautiful and are very sturdy, BUT they don't all work. At first we thought they were not getting enough light. Now they are all in the same spot in the wide open sun all day and only 2 work totally. One has a tiny flicker and the other has no light at all. So far, I have not been able to correct this problem. I also have the copper changing colors lights as well. I can't stop looking out the back window to watch all the changing colors. I am so glad Westinghouse got into the solar business. I have purchased the cheap black plastic ones from another company years ago and they are being retired. These lights are great with garden art. I am planting all white annuals this year so things can really pop back there!!!
