Summary: Lancets are great, the problem is the lancing device
Comment: The AgaMatrix Wavesense glucose meter is the most accurate glucose meter on the market (almost twice as accurate as most other meter) and works great. These Lancets are made to be used with the meter. They are 33 Gauge and hence thinner than most other Lancets, so they should be less painful to use. The problem is that the Lancing device that comes with the Wavesense glucose meter is poorly made and cannot reproducibly lance your finger to the same depth: moreover the depth setting doesn't work most of the time. This means you end up having to lance much more deeply than necessary to avoid having to lance repeatedly when the lancing depth is too shallow.
I switched to the Accucheck Multiclix lancing device : it is more expensive but as advertised less painful even though it uses a 30Gauge needle, since its lancing depth is predictable and it uses a cam mechanism to not just lance but also withdraw the needle smoothly. It works great with my Wavesense meter and even fits in the wavesense case.
