Comment: In addition to recreational media, it's great for storing system backups or individual files; I keep a lot of rarely-used files and programs there instead of in my PC, allowing my system to run better. It's certainly more convenient than the larger external hard drives; fits in a large coat pocket, carrying case and all. And the price was just fine.

The Hp pocket drive is a snap to use as a storage and backup device as well as a portable hard drive.
It gives you another layer of security as its ease of removal at any time to be safely stored away. It keeps personal data "Personal".
Using it as a portable hard drive couldn't be more convenient as it will fit in your pocket and takes just seconds to remove or replace. It is great to transfer data to a second pc. It is an ideal product. This is a best buy for me!

Summary: Easy and Convenient
Comment: I bought both an HP 'pocket drive' and an HP 'personal mdia drive' for my HP computer -- there is a bay for each so they are completly inside the computer. Works just fine for backing up my data and taking on trips to use with my laptop, at the same time keeping the data safe at two sites.
The pocket drive is smaller and doesn't require a power cable when used as an external drive. The personal media drive is faster but is larger and requires both a power cable and a USB connection. I think they cost a little more than other competing external drives but the HP drive bays make that worth the difference. I think I prefer the pocket drive over the media drive because of the greater conveniance.

Comment: Have not received this HP Pocket Drive from tech&beyond which was ordered 17 May 08 and today is 3 Jul 08. Filed a claim and waiting for the results. Will not attempt to order this way again. Very disappointing. Aletha

Comment: Recently bought an HP pavilion slimline tower and wanted to backup my computer. Hard drive slides right into the expansion bay. Easy to use, comes with Roxio backup my pc software pre-installed on drive. Great product.
