Summary: Hot as "Sin"
Comment: Another winner in Kenyon's endlessly imaginative and sexy DArk-HUnter series.The 11th novel, "DEvil May Cry", is the story of Dark HUnter, Sin, an ex-Sumarian god turned DArk HUnter with the fate of the world in his hands, an axe to grind with the greek goddess, Artemis, and a serious growing crush on Artemis' daughter, Kat Agrotera. The story is the usual delicious caldron mix of gods, goddesses, daimons, charonte demons, gallu demons, dream hunters and the ultimate salvation of a broken, but hunky, DArk Hunter through the power of selfless and unconditional love.
YOu'll also get a tasty dose of Acheron (Ash) and further unraveling of his ongoing relationships with his Dark hunters, "Artie", and an important "new" character in his life. All and all, very entertaining. Enjoy !

Summary: Oh Baby Baby.
Comment: This book kept my attention and I never read so that's very hard to do. It kept me up all night reading it and not being able to put it down.

Comment: After Dark Side of the Moon, I vowed never to read another Sherrilyn Kenyon book but after reading Acheron...I needed to know about Katra and her father so I read this one. It was worth buying and I would recommend it to any Sherrilyn Kenyon fan. Being biased after the disaster that befell Nick (my favorite character) my choice to not read another one of her books ever again seems a little childish now but I must say that the book where Nick kills himself I cried for weeks. The series is going in a direction that the readers will just have to sit back and see where it takes you...whether your favorite character lives or not.

Comment: I loved Devil May Cry. It answered many questions I had and was a lot of fun to read. I really liked Sin and I love Kat. The book even humanizes Apollymi.
This one read like an 'end of the world' episode of Buffy. Since I love Buffy, that was fine with me. The interactions between Xirena and Simi was also a hoot but I was a little disappointed there wasn't any mention of Alexion and Danger but oh well, can't have it all in one book.
Sin was just delicious. I loved him and Kat together and found his 'scoobie' support team of Kish and Damien equally delightful. SK has been really humanizing the Daimons lately and I feel for them a lot more especially since Kiss of the Night but it could be because there's something bigger and badder loose on the streets now.
This book really made me hate Artemis. It wasn't because she beats Acheron or because of the flashbacks into his past where she betrays him. It's because after all that, she still refuses to understand what she did was wrong and ontop of that, Acheron doesn't hurt her back when he is able to, right where it would hurt her the most, in her non existent heart.
One thing I did not like in this book was the part where Kat has to make a sacrifice in order for Sin to live. Acheron tells her as soon as she does this, it's permanent. No going back. Yet about five pages later her sacrifice is negated when Sin gives it back to her, as if it's just a little something she gave him to use temporarily and now that he's done with it, he gives it back. That's not a sacrifice. That's letting someone borrow something. Ugh. Since it was the very last part of the book, it really bugged me.
Anyhoo, I really liked the book. A lot of answers were given and I can't wait for Acheron's book to come out. In the meantime I'm going to tackle Xypher's book because SK really intrigued me about his possible story. I also kind of hope there is more of Hades in the future because I'm starting to like the little glimpses I get of him.
It's funny but if you've seen the tx show Hercules and Xena, that's how I picture all the gods and goddesses up there on Olympus.

Summary: Not as much about Sin as it is about ASH!
Comment: If I remember correctly, Devil May Cry was not as popular with the reviewer's as some of Kenyon's earlier Dark Hunter novels.
Me? I liked it, because no matter what other people say, Kenyon's not only did it as one of the firsts, she did it best. Sure there are times we feel cheated on some of the stories because we all have ideas on how some of these characters tales should be told and it would seem Kenyon is so busy cranking out their stories she doesn't seem to take the time to tell their stories properly. But that still doesn't mean I can't wait to get my hand on the next one as soon as it's released!
It's also been said Kenyon tends to make rules in her worlds then not follow them. That doesn't bug me too much, because, darn it, I like her worlds. (I really like the meshing of pantheons for some reason. In DMC we get a look at the Sumerian Pantheon which is cool because I happen to be intrigued by that area of mythology.)
For me, her DH books are like candy. I can read them fast and though the feeling of pleasure may night last long, the instant gratification is sweet and the memory of the pleasure lingers at the very least.
Devil May Cry is not really about Sin and Katra as one might be led to expect by the blurb. Yeah, their love story is in it, and I did enjoy the change of pace- Kat has very little baggage despite her genetics- but what makes the book better, is the insight we get into the most beloved secondary character in the Dark Hunter novels- ever!- our Acheron. He gets lots of air time in DMC- although Artemas has him hidden away in Olympus through much of it.
Still, I read DMC in one sitting, there is that!
Don't miss this one before you get to Acheron's book because some secrets are revealed that you'll want to know and ... supposedly ... after reading it, we've had a peek at Ash's happily ever after!!
