Labelle is back with one of the most anticipated recordings of 2008! Sounding every bit as sassy, fresh and edgy as in their heyday, Patti, Nona and Sarah have brought together some of the powerhouse talents of today & yesterday to create a true event. The first single 'Rollout' prominently features Wyclef Jean on an upbeat contemporary anthem that will expose Labelle to a whole new audience. Lenny Kravitz plays all over the three tracks he produced combining unique R&B retro sounds with his natural rock edge. The Masters of Philly Soul Kenneth Gamble & Leon A. Huff bring their magic to four of the album's ten tracks. The album closes with a recording of 'Miss Otis Regrets' from 1969. Produced by Kit Lambert.

Customer Rating: Summary: upbeat and so much more...tHO Comment: This is the type of cd where you will find a favorite song and then some/I really love the song Without You/Patti Labelles voice will make you weep with joy/Enjoy!
Customer Rating: Summary: I've been waiting 32 years for this album!! Comment: It is so good to have Labelle back in the now with their Back to Now album. Nona, Sarah and Patti harmonize like angels and their voices are flawless. The album mixes funk with soul with rock with a light rap, and fuses them all together that is something new, but which also reminds you of the past. The sound is impeccable, thanks not only to Labelle, but also to producers like Zuri Edwards (Patti's son), Jean Wyclef, and Lenny Kravitz. I received this CD about a month ago, and put it in the CD player in my car, and it hasn't come out yet. I highly recommend this album to anyone searching for excellent music, which is both fun and meaningful. I know their concerts are going to be even better (I just wish I could afford the tickets, but the financial crisis is killing me!!!) Buy the album: You WILL love it! And see them in concert, in you can!
Customer Rating: Summary: Very disappointed Comment: I was a big fan of Labelle back in the day, but their most recent reunion cd was very disappointing to me. I thought they were going to update their classic songs. No wonder no radio station is playing the cd. Nothing stands out at all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good music / January show! Comment: We just got tix to see them in Oakland CA in January. 1st row, balcony!
I agree there's a lot of Patti, and I love Sarah's & Nona's voices too. I hope in the live concert they do some oldies. If they do ISN'T IT A SHAME?, there's gonna be a puddle of tears near my seat.
In Oakland the audience will surely be a mix of African Americans and gay men, as it was when I saw Patti solo there. We are going to rock out!
Anyone who likes their sound, TRUTH...FREE, as well as CANDLELIGHT are near to their original (post Bluebells) sound. It's worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Michael Byrne Comment: The GIRLS are at there best. Outstanding CD from start to finish. The songs Rollout, Dear Rosa and Miss Otis Regrets are Amazing. Nona, Miss Patti and Sarah put a big smile on my face.
