Customer Rating: Summary: Great Read! Comment: This book was great! It was a very quick read and any woman who has had children can relate on some level with the character. It was well written and kept my interest. There were spots where I was laughing out loud and then others were so close to my reality it was scary! Great first book for G Pearl Mak! I am anxiously awaiting a next one! ;-)
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice chicklit read Comment: Good book about a new mom trying to get back to her old self. Nicely writen, and so true.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does anyone know where I can get those eyelashes? I'm serious. Comment: "Frozen Pancakes and Fake Lashes" (which is an awesome title, by the way) is one of the best chick-lit novels I've read in a long time. Angela, a 30-something hotshot lawyer, is horrified when she discovers that she's pregnant. A baby will completely ruin her life! How in the world can Angela expect to make partner at her firm when she has a slobbering infant to take care of? Angela's husband, Collin, is a great guy, but he recently went into business for himself, and money isn't exactly rolling in. Miserable due to the physical effects of pregnancy, Angela becomes more distant from her husband and begins to resent her unborn baby more and more with each passing day. Nine months go by, and the baby finally makes an appearance. Angela must cope with being a working mother and deal with the consequences that result in her marriage and at the office. Things finally hit the breaking point when Angela finds out that she's been betrayed in the worst possible way. How in the world will she recover?
This isn't a brilliant or deep novel by any stretch of the imagination, but it's funny, entertaining, and honest. Angela is a very relatable character, and the story is engaging and realistic. I finished reading the book in a matter of days because I didn't want to put it down. I really hope the author writes a sequel.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fast Moving Comment: I enjoyed reading this book for the most part. Some parts are pretty funny and fast moving. However, I feel that the author could have left some things out, some of the writing tends to be a little too wordy and repetitious. But it has a good ending with a surprise twist. It's a good book to read for a career woman who is contemplating on having a child and keeping her career. An interesting look at how a baby changes your life.
Customer Rating: Summary: Entertaining Comment: This was fun to read and as the story developed I was more and more interested in Angela and what was happening. It's a book that I'll share with my sisters as I know they will also enjoy it.
The end seemed to leave an opening for a second book and if it comes out, I'll definitely get it to read the continuation of Angela's adventure with marriage, children, friends and life!
